Yes, we do web design. But almost anyone can
create a website.
We focus on the entire process, including analyzing how a website fits into your business as a whole, what it can do for you on the back-end with software development and database design, and we round it all out by providing domain registration, search engine optimization, ongoing excellent support, and handling your email/database/website hosting at our server facility in San Jose, California.

How can your business be more efficient and effective?
That is the key question for any business, large or small. There are various types of consulting practices geared towards this, marketing consultants, business consultants, sales consultants, the list goes on.
We focus on the area of using technology to improve your business processes,
Of course, these days almost every business utilizes computers in one way or another. But surprisingly little thought has gone into how to best use technology across how a business operates. Do the groups within your company exchange information easily? How does your sales team process new orders? Can you track business critical actions across departments? Do your clients have easy access to important information? Can your department heads easily view how clients use your services, and measure key metrics within the company? What functions repeat often in your company, and how error prone are they? Some companies solve some of these things with large off-the-shelf solutions like Siebel, SAP, and other packages. And these packages are great for large companies with large budgets. Take note, though, that even a company that has such an existing solution still needs specialized applications that help fill the gaps (what we like to call "Glueware") between what that solution can provide, and what your company needs. So how do we meet these needs? |

We provide solutions that can contain both
off-the-shelf products
and customized development, and integrate both seamlessly. We have done software development on multiple platforms, such as applications specifically for Windows, PDAs such as the Palm Pilot, cellphones using BREW, and closed embedded systems. But the most popular architecture is the Web Application, due to the speed to deployment, the flexibility of solutions, scalability, and easy access via any web browser. Our development framework typically contains four parts: User Interface: A user interface (UI) for a web application is developed to be viewed using a web browser. As an outcome of the business flow analysis, we determine if the UI is geared towards internal customers, external, or both. Based on the project, the UI can be extended to work with other devices like cellphones or PDAs, or other platforms as necessary. Software: The main component of the development, sometimes referred to as the "engine", is typically a web server or other web services. In general, we use open source solutions such as Apache version 2 for the web server, but of course we can work with existing platforms for a given client. Database: A main component of any extensible system is a solid database, and in addition to the industry stalwarts such as Oracle, we work with open source solutions such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. Servers/Hosting: Our finished product runs on one or more servers, and we standardize on the UNIX platform for reliability, cost, and scalability. We can work with almost any UNIX variant but prefer either Gentoo Linux or Redhat Linux. Upon project completeion, we can either host the servers ourselves at our server facility in San Jose, California, or we can hand-off the system to your company's I.T. department.
